Hey friends, It is not uncommon to hear business owners complaining about how hard it is to hire people. As if people do not want to work anymore. Some even compare and contrast the work rate and gumption between generations. But the truth is this has been a problem since time immemorial. He wrote about what this episode taught us about branding and humanity. That post blew up and garnered 1k+ reactions, 77 comments and 53 shares (as of 22 Jul 2022). I'm not here to regurgitate what Benjamin already shared but more to decipher why that post went viral. According to Professor Jonah Berger, there are six reasons why people share content (that make it go viral). 💵 Social currency - we share things that make us look good 🔫 Triggers - we share things that we keep coming across 💗 Emotion - we share things that make us emotional 👁️ Public visibility - we share the long queues outside the new Bubble Tea outlet 📰 Practical value - we share useful information 📖 Stories - we all love narratives Similar to how MrBeast leveraged a combination of factors to become the #1 YouTuber, the post by Benjamin hit several notes. Namely social currency, triggers, emotion and stories. The critical thing here is the emotional bit. As Maya Angelou famously said, "I've learned that people will forget what you said, people will forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel." To influence virality in your next posts, start by asking yourself what emotional state you want your reader to feel after reading your post.
