Hey friends, Did you know that paid sick leave went all the way back to ancient Egyptian times? I learned about it from Alvin Goh's commentary for Channel NewsAsia, in which he dove into companies' fetishism with medical certificates and the underlying reasons. 📱Software/app RecommendationsHow many messaging apps are you juggling with? For me, the list would include WhatsApp, Facebook Messenger, Telegram, Teams, LinkedIn Messages and the occasional Skype. And these are spread all over the place since not all carry a native app. Even if they do, you won't really want to install all and bog down the precious resources on your computer. You can open all of them in a browser, but you have to re-login all over again if it crashes. I use Franz as a catch-all. Think of it as a separate browser just to house all your messaging platforms. Because it is purpose-built, it is much more resource-efficient and toggling between them is a breeze. Especially when I need to forward a message from one platform to another. Franz is compatible with all major messaging platforms. 💁♂️LinkedIn Tip of the week(Excerpts from my LinkedIn course) What do I write on LinkedIn? Writer's block. It affects everyone, and it affects me every time I try to write this newsletter. To make it easier to work through that block, you need a direction or a theme to narrow down the vastness of choice. There is a long list of items you can consider writing on when it comes to LinkedIn content. Here are ten of them: 1. Share an observation 2. Talk about a recent win 3. Talk about a recent failure 4. Break down your favourite creator 5. Share something you are working on 6. Share a lesson you learned this week 7. Share the best advice you've received 8. Share the worst advice you've received 9. Compare two different common thoughts 10. Share something you believe that others don't
