The new Snowman Zipper is a terriFLAKE opportunity to practice drawing with shapes! The snowman is depicted at an angle, making him a little trickier to draw than a typical snowman picture. But don't have a meltdown! It will set your mind at "freeze" to know that the template contains helpful hints.

Two Block Arc shapes are among those used to build the snowman. A block arc is a circular ring with a missing section—like a partial donut. You can adjust its width and angle by dragging the yellow adjustment handles. The Snowman Zipper template includes an animation demonstrating how to insert and adjust a block arc.
Snow Globe + One Word for 2025You might recognize the snowman as the one that appears in the Snow Globe Lesson. That lesson focuses on making a shiny sphere, so I thought having the snowman as a separate Shapegram would be helpful. You might consider offering students the Snowman Zipper first. Then, when they do the Snow Globe Lesson, they can add their snowmen to their snow globes. Instead of snowmen in the snow globes, the Snow Globe lesson can tie into kicking off the new year with One Word, which is like a simplified New Year’s resolution. My word for 2025 is Launch. I have been working on a big project, and 2025 is the year I will launch it. I also want to boost my speaking engagements by booking more conferences and events. Furthermore, I want to help the teachers in my school district launch into A.I. I used word art to stylize the word Launch. I added a rocket drawn with shapes to illustrate my word. I layered it to place my design under the glass of the snow globe.

You might invite students to choose a word to focus on for the year as part of the Snow Globe Lesson. Then, you could copy and paste students' globes into this Google Slides shelf as a reminder to stay true to your SHELF.
Marc Hodgkinson shares his 5-day One Word lesson. Marc uses it to take Grade 7 students through a variety of activities before creating slides that explain their words (and proudly displays them in snow globes). You can copy his Google Slides and use them as inspiration for your own lesson. Winter ShapegramsIt's cold outside in the Northern Hemisphere!
