I love using AI! Google Gemini and ChatGPT are my besties but they are certainly no magic wand. In the chart above that Quizizz put out... their DOK 4 in particular is wrong. WHY? It was trained on bad data!! There is so much misconception out there about DOK and that misconception is what AI knows!!

BE SKEPTICAL FRIENDS!

When creating rubrics, lesson plans, DOK alignment... you name it... AI is mediocre at best... why? Most resources on the internet are mediocre or wrong.

AI works best when you know your stuff!

This helps you to ask better, more detailed, prompts and to more intelligently argue with it to help it to create better resources.

DOK 4 is the highest level of critical thinking on the taxonomy. It is about COMPLEX REASONING not how hard something is.

This AI response said "extended thinking" and I think that is misleading... complex and extended are not the same thing.
Totally agree you need a nuanced understanding of the standard... which generative AI has an "understanding" of nothing. It simply is looking for patterns on the Internet.
DOK 4 tasks do NOT need to be personalized... you can have personalized DOK 1.
I do agree with the limitations list!! AI IS NOT CREATIVE!!
