As a premium member you have access to both official and unofficial Add-ons for Google Workspace. If you are a Google Classroom user you will want to use Reuse GC. THIS IS UNOFFICIAL AND COLLECTS NO USER DATA! Go to alicekeeler.com/reusegc and after making a copy wait a minute to get the "Reuse GC" dropdown menu. Make one per class!!

Using Generative AI

The buzz word of the year is definitely AI! ChatGPT, Google Gemini, Claude, and about a million other generative AI products are here to help you. In addition, the API's from these tools can be incorporated into any number of untold education tools that "have AI."

Did you know that the Gemini sidebar can now be added to your Google Workspace on a user by user basis? This means your school can get it just for you if they want to. You will love having it when lesson planning and grading.

When your school pays to upgrade your Google account you'll have access to Gemini ADVANCED which is obviously more powerful than the free gemini.google.com

Try going to your Google Drive and finding a document you already own. Use Control A to select all. Control C to copy. Probably gemini.google.com is not enabled on your school account, if that is the case, paste into Gemini from your personal account.

Ask Gemini to rewrite the document to make it grammatically correct.

Then go to chat.openai.com and do the same thing.

Artificial Intelligence (AI) is okay (not amazing) at DOK 1 and DOK 2 critical thinking. It gets a lot sketchier if you want DOK 3 and DOK 4. It is essential YOU have a good grasp on the 4 levels of DOK so you can effectively use AI for DOK support.
