Hi How you approach new things is the difference between success and failure in any venture (whether business or life.) And that's because we all have to go from NOT KNOWING how to make something work to KNOWING & DOING to get anywhere. But one kind of person, let's call her Bold Beatrice, will jump in to a training course certain that she can make her new venture work, especially if other people are already succeeding with it. Bold Beatrice says "If anyone can do it, then so can I. I just have to work out how. If this course doesn't give me all the pieces to plug the gaps in my knowledge, I'll just find the missing pieces." When the thing invariably doesn't work at the first attempt, she is off trying another thing to see if THAT works. In the end, she quits, disillusioned because apparently NOTHING works! The last kind of person (Negative Nancy!) is convinced that even if that thing has worked for other people it's not going to work for her. She thinks she's a special case and that no one else has ADHD, kids, sick parents, only an hour a day to work or whatever. And the truth is, Negative Nancy may be right. It IS harder to succeed in some circumstances and she may very well have more things standing in her way than others. But it doesn't mean she can't get to where she wants to be. She can be right and "prove" that it's not possible for her. Or she can decide to succeed anyway. What's your attitude to taking on new things?
